Tyler Oberbroekling who hasn't played in the league in 3 years found himself looking for a place to spend the night because he would be joining the field of players trying to find their golden ticket to Vegas.

55 Players braved the blizzard to play in the South Dakota State Championship on October 12, 2019. The top 3 players received a travel voucher, and twelve players earned the title of State Champion, receiving a trophy and a guaranteed seat at nationals to the King Slayer Championship Free-roll, with $50,000 in prizes, January 10-12, 2020 in Las Vegas. 5 alternates will also be invited to Las Vegas, where they will have several opportunities to qualify for the King Slayer Championship! Congratulations to Lee Kathol from Mojo’s in Yankton the 13th qualifier, earning his seat in the 2nd chance tournament.
The tenth season of the Mid-States Poker Tour is back with another tournament series, this time at the Grand Falls Casino, Iowa, United States. The MSPT South Dakota returns with $200K at stake, and the tournament is expected to gather quite some poker enthusiasts from all over the state. The tournament is scheduled for December 18-20 and will feature a single $1,100 NLH series as its main attraction. The MSPT South Dakota started their satellite and super satellite tournaments from November 25, which will continue till 19 December. Players who win these satellite games will be eligible to advance to the main events.
